Great Article on Shopping Areas Coming to Western Wake
Read a wonderful article about the new shopping centers coming to Western Wake County. My favorite part is the changes being made at Waverly Place. This shopping center was once the place I went to as a kid, to the movies, restaraunts (remember Chi Chi's and Binky's Diner?!), and was where the Harris Teeter everyone went to once was. I am so glad to see it being revitalized and becoming more than it was ever thought to be! A Farmer's Market, Pavillion, Restaraunts with patio seating, shuttles to concerts at Koka Booth?! Sign me up!

Dos Taquitos Central & Pink Martini
I cashed in on a Christmas gift from my husband this past weekend. We went to see Pink Martini with the NC Symphony at Meymandi Concert Hall in Downtown Raleigh. It being a Friday evening, we were a little rushed to make the 8pm show, but managed to squeeze an AWESOME dinner beforehand.
I can't rave enough about how good it was. They offer call ahead seating, which made all the difference for us that night. The vibe and atmosphere is just as funky as their Creedmoor restaurant, but has a littl more upscale appeal, and is just really cool in one of the old buildings down there. Although, it's not a huge place, it was quiet enough for Blake and I to chat.
The margaritas were fabulous, I had the Organica, which has a splash of OJ in it to make it a little sweeter than the more tradtional one that Blake had. So yummy!
We split an appetizer which was kind of like a spanish bruschetta, and then split the "Dos Taquitos" (steak tacos) entree. Delicious! Chips, Salsa and Guacomole were also served.
The service was friendly and quick, well above our expectations since they knew were were a little rushed.
Don't expect your run of the mill mexcian food, nor prices, but it's definitely worth it.
The bar in the back looks fun too! Definitely headed back when we can!

Check Out the New Waverly Place!
This sure looks exciting, I really hope it works unlike the last attempt! Waverly used to be the place we shopped, dined and went to the movies. It is in such a good location, and can't wait to hear who'll be coming!
